Fingal has a great choice of Castles to take you back in time. From your pick up point you will be taken by bus to the beautiful restored Ardgillan Castle, in Balbriggan. Ardgillan Castle was built in 1738 for Robert Taylor Dean of Clonfert and is now open daily to the public.
From Balbriggan your group, accompanied by your guide will make your way by bike along part of the Giro D’Italia Route (20km) to Swords Castle.
Swords Castle is a complex collection of medieval buildings built between the 12th and 14th centuries as a fortified palace for the Archbishops of Dublin. Most recently it was used as part of the set for the block buster TV series ‘The Tudors’.
Our tour now brings us (5km) along the International wildlife reserve of the Broadmeadow Estuary, past the old Seatown Castle reputed to be the ancestral home of actor Tom Cruise.
Next stop Malahide Castle built in the 12th Century by the Talbot family, pop along to the famous Avoca Café located in the old court yard of the Castle before going on a guided tour of the castle which remained the residence of the Talbot family until 1975.
